Once I heard the sound of the wind in the trees.  나무들에 이는 바람소리를 들었네.

Once I heard the sound of the laughter of children.  아이들의 웃음소리를 들었네.

And I wept warm salted tears for the lost trees.  사라진 나무들을 위해 뜨겁고 쓰라린 눈물을 흘렸네.

Let the little children come onto the trees  아이들이 나무에 올라 놀게 하고

    and I will give them hope.  그들에게 희망을 주리라.

But there are no trees for the poor lost children.  그러나 갈 곳 없는 아이들을 위한 나무가 없다네.

Decay is their toy.  황량함만이 그들의 장난감이고

Despair is their game.  절망만이 그들의 놀이라네.

They have only chaos to climb.  아이들이 올라갈 곳은 혼란뿐이네.
